How much cargo is in a truck? Do the shop shelves need replenishing yet? Is the elevator overloaded? How many bees are in the hive? Whether something is moving or static, Zemic’s load cells can weigh anything. Even for E-bikes, to establish just how much pedal power assistance is required. Zemic is the global market leader in load cells, strain gauges and sensors.
Rapidly growing customer base
Zemic was founded in China in 1965, and has many years of experience in the field of weighing and load cells. Their clients come from a variety of fields, such as the food, medical, agricultural and process industries. Customers in Europe are serviced by the Etten-Leur branch. This not only involves supplying products, but also developing customer-specific solutions.
Synchronizing old and new terms
Until recently, the translations were carried out by Zemic’s multilingual staff. Although their employees are well versed in professional jargon, they aren’t translators, and do not have smart translation software at their disposal. As a result, the translation work began to pile up.
Since collaborating with MK Vertalingen, Zemic no longer needs to worry about their technical translations. As a purely technical company, Zemic is an interesting customer for MK. “It’s a challenge to weave the existing jargon in 5 languages into new translations. Our translators start by studying how specific terms have been translated previously. However, they also use their expertise and experience to come up with suggestions,” says Martine Kuijs of MK Vertalingen.
Kim Paulussen of Zemic says about the collaboration: “It’s a pleasure to work with MK Vertalingen. In our industry, we use many specific terms. MK’s long experience with technical translations is a real advantage for us. Engaging with us and coming up with suggestions for improvement is also beneficial. Moreover, they are always able to deliver all the required languages within a few days”.
